Overview

Entries for the San Dieguito Lagoon Day Photo Contest will be accepted from January 13, 2012, to April, 13, 2012.  You are invited to submit work in two categories.

Entrant Criteria

The San Dieguito Lagoon Day Photo Contest is open to all photographers, professional or amateur, residing in San Diego County.

Divisions     

  • Beginner – Ages 11 and under
  • Junior – Ages 12-17
  • Adult – Persons 18 years of age or older

Two Categories:

  • Free Subject:  Works that convey the photographer’s unique perspective of the San Dieguito Lagoon.
  • Life:  Works that capture and exhibit the flora and fauna of the San Dieguito Lagoon in their natural surroundings.

Number of entries:

Each entrant may submit up to a total of 4 images: 2 entries maximum for each category.

Awards and Prizes:

Grand Prize (1 person)
First Prize (1 person each category for each age group, total 6 people)
Second Prize (1 person each category for each age group, total 6 people)
Third Prize (1 person each category for each age group, total 6 people)
Emerging Talent (awards to all beginner entries)

Winning entries will be exhibited in the photo gallery on this website.  In addition, Grand Prize through Third Prizes will be exhibited as a PowerPoint presentation at the Powerhouse during The San Dieguito Lagoon Celebration on April 22, 2012, beginning at 10:30 a.m.

How to Apply 

Two Steps

Step 1: Sign up online.  Please fill out the online entry form on this website.  Click here or on the signup tab.  Click the “submit” button to submit the entry form.

Step 2: Submit your photos via email.  Photos must be submitted separately as email attachments sent to photos@lagoondaydelmar.com

Note:  Entrants will not be notified of receipt of entries.
Note:  The same photograph may not  be submitted in both categories.
Note:  Only 2 photographs may be submitted in each category.

Images may be submitted ONLY via email.

  • All photos must be submitted in digital form.  Accepted formats include JPEG, TIFF, GIF, and PNG.
  • Both color and black-and-white images are accepted.
  • Maximum size per photo: 10MB.

Note: Your email with attachments can be no larger than 10MB.  If your photos are very large, please submit them in separate emails.

Announcement of Winners

The winners will be announced and prizes awarded at The San Dieguito Lagoon Day Celebration on April 22.

Notification to Winners

The winners will be notified via email by the organizer.
